Stages of Conscience

Regardless of the geography of where we were born, we are from nowhere until we acquire a conscience.

So, wherever we are, from the moment we acquire a conscience of who we are, we belong to that place geographically and spiritually.

But by then, our memories have distorted our conscience, as memories make most of it. Yet most of our memories are made from our imagination, as nothing can be brought back to life as it happened, like an egg, which we cannot put back together once cracked. So, we can only imagine our past. We imagine our pain, our past joy. We can restore none of it.

Still, even with a conscience, there are two mysteries we will never decipher: Where were we before birth, and where will we be after death?

Between these two mysteries lies our life, and how we live it depends on our stages of conscience.
