She Was A Flower

Dear friends,

I am pleased to share my poem She Was A Flower. In this poem, I explore beauty's fleeting quality and relationships' fragility.

I hope the poem encourages you to cherish the moments you share with loved ones and to hold onto memories, even when relationships end.

I would love to hear if any of the lines in the poem relate to you. Thank you.

She Was A Flower

A poem by Sal Godoij

She was a flower

Butterflies danced at the waving of her hair

She was that kind of fairy tale princess

Her voice attracted the singing of the birds

Wherever she moved

Spring moved along with her

She was a flower

Fresh, bright, soft, scented, that was her

Eyes followed her as she swayed her hips

As the breeze sways the stems of a flower, which she was

From her, with her

I learned about warm springs, unforgettable summers

The crisp colours of autumn

The infinite shades of winter

The sweetness of love, which is the season of the heart

But the season of the heart brings scented storms with it

Winds of deception took our love away

The flower withered

Day by day, it withered

Yet, all that I wanted was time

All that I wished was more time

More time to love her, more time to be together

Inevitably

The fairy tale reached its last page

Not with a living happily ever after ending

Deceived by too much passion

The flower withered

But for me, she is still fresh, still bright

Soft, scented, blooming

She is still blooming somewhere in a corner of my heart.
