The Woman
Dear friend who faithfully reads my soulpunctures.
I'm pleased to share my poem, "The Woman" with you.
I dedicate this poem to every woman with joy and fulfillment.
Women reflect the beauty of humanity, and as a key part of the creation story, their presence must be respected and celebrated every day.
I would love to hear your thoughts on the poem and if you would dare to write similar lines to the woman in your heart, your mother, your wife, your friend, your sister, your daughter, or to that woman that you once saw for just one second and remains unforgettable in your heart, and if so, what does make a woman unforgettable, for you?
The Woman
A poem by Sal Godoij
When God created man
He did it with a purpose
But His purpose wasn't clear
So, He did it in parts
Part by part, organ by organ, member by member
God made man
But then there was a missing part
What was it?
Was it a brain?
Was it a heart?
And then, like a giant light bulb
The entire Earth illuminated
A woman! God screamed
As many years later
Someone else would scream Eureka!
I had found it!
And to God's scream
A rumbling shook the Earth
It was the echo of a thunderous applause
From the universe
A woman! A choir of angels sang. A woman!
That's right, because without a woman
Man would have never been able to be a complete man
Without a woman
Man would have never been able to reach Heaven
And thus, God pictured man and woman
Arm in arm, kneeling at His altar
And so
His purpose of Creation was now clear
God made the woman
And Paradise bloomed!
