On Progress

Progress, what is it?

Growth or development, continuous improvement. We found this definition in most dictionaries.

Still, we must be conscious of where we were yesterday and where we are today. Is it better today than yesterday, or are we stuck going nowhere? If our present shows that we're better than yesterday, then we can feel free to envision our future. We could do this constantly: measure our progress and positively anticipate the future. If we're serious about progress, we must always be alert to any positive or negative changes. Experience shows that being too optimistic is not always a positive quality. Furthermore, we must remember that the longer we procrastinate, the more expensive our present will be.

So, what is on your plate?

If you see today that your situation has not improved compared to yesterday, then you must adjust your planning to move at least one step forward. But if you look back and see that yesterday, things were better than they are today, something is definitively wrong. It may mean you are moving backwards and have not noticed yet. The causes that promote this situation are your responsibility: Inactivity, auto-complacence, procrastination, wrong attitude, negative habits, being careless with your finances, inadequate planning, or choosing the wrong partners.

Therefore, never allow yourself to be in a worse situation than when you started your life's walk. Learn something, identify and cancel the habits that hinder it, save some money, take steps to improve your persona and grow into something that satisfies you fully, for your self-satisfaction is the most remarkable progress. Monitor your progress constantly, always look in your rear-view mirror, and never allow your failures to catch up upon you.
