Full Moon

I decided to open my heart today

And I invite you to do the same

To dry your tears, to reconsider your thoughts

If they were sad if they were negative

To look around you for the opportunities

That surround you

Your neighbours, your friends, your family, yourself

And God, don’t forget God

No matter if you see Him or not, if you feel Him

God is there, perhaps not in the clouds that cloud your mind

But in every rainbow, in every flower, in every petal

You smell when you are in love, in ecstatic love

Perhaps not in the sorrow that clouds your eyes

But in every flower, in every petal, you avoid at a funeral

I invite you today to open your heart

To the greatness that surrounds you and that you don’t see, you don’t feel

And you belong to those things, you belong

In everything that surrounds you, there is something

Where you belong, something glorious, divine

That pulls you out of yourself like a mother grabs a child

By the hand and takes him to the window

To watch a full moon for the first time in his life

Only the full moon you expect to see is in you, within you

And a sun too, and many springs, and snow too

And the harsh beating of the rain on dry leaves

So, I decided to open my heart today

And I invite you to do the same

To dry your tears, to reconsider your thoughts

If they were sad if they were negative

Let your mother come back from wherever she is

From wherever she has been

And hold her hand and let her take you to the window

Feel your mother’s hand on your hand again

Keep that feeling, feel its warmth, hold to it

Shake off your sorrows and enjoy the miracle

I invite you to come closer to your window

Open your eyes and watch the full moon.
