On Success

Since the beginning of time, we have tried to reach a point where we feel satisfied with what we have achieved. Is it what we call success? However, as has been stated throughout the times by unaccountable philosophers, prophets, and writers, success is not something that happens overnight. We must work hard for it, whatever our objective is. So, it’s clear that we must rehearse success. The best tools for rehearsing success are failures, rejections, and disappointments. However, it is also essential to ask ourselves if the goal we have set in our eyes and hearts is worth those failures, rejections, and disappointments.

So, we must ensure that our goal is attainable according to our means. For example, a person approached me as she wanted to write a book. She assured me the plot she fancied was so good that the book would become the next best-seller. However, she confessed to me that she did not understand the basics of storytelling, so she asked me if I could help her to write her masterpiece. Another example: I knew a man who set his goal to marry a woman: the woman of his dreams. He married her, but it cost him years, money, and health to convince him that the woman of his dreams was just a dream.

As painful as it is, we must learn about our limitations. We should know if the light we pursue is not a moon ray or if what we are chasing is a ghost or an illusion. We should know this because our spiritual peace, money, happiness, and health are at stake on the road to success.

And so, my friend, you who complain that success has been elusive to you, are you chasing something attainable, or is it a moon ray, a ghost, or an illusion?
