On Ignorance

When multiplied, weaknesses may become unmanageable forces. Ignorance, for example, might be a weakness; however, if it multiplies, it becomes a power. The power of ignorance has defied wisdom and common sense, defeated civilizations, and conquered the human spirit through millennia.

The problem, then, is for all who stand in the path of this power.

Though civilization's history mirrors our errors, we continue to raise the flags of ignorance and hail victory over wisdom, truth, and common sense, even though we are the victims.

Thus, irremediably, we always trip over the same stone, and although we get hurt, this sorrowful cycle never ends.

I wonder how we could reverse this pathetic human condition.
