The Ten Commandments - As God explains them.

I'm here in front of you, my rebellious children

To talk to you about the Ten Commandments

To remind you to keep them in your commitments

To talk about your behaviour, your well-being

To walk in the same path you walk, the same alley

Warn you about your behaviour, your choosing

To do this, I climbed the steps down to this valley

I urge you to follow the Ten Commandments

Protect your neighbours from your behaviour

Protect yourself from it, from Evil in your skin

Evil, despite the teachings of Your Saviour

Devil, despite my teachings, stains you with sin

I remind you to follow the Ten Commandments

Do you remember I carved them in stones?

Shouldn't I have carved them in your bones?

Because I'm merciful, I'm giving them again the same way

I presented them to Moses not long ago, on the same day

Moses climbed up Mount Sinai

I expect that you have not yet that chapter forgotten

As I hope your soul is not yet out of Salvation, rotten

1       -  You shall have no other god before me.

2       -  You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain.

3       -  You shall not make unto thee any graven image of your God.

4       -  Remember the sabbath day and keep it holy.

5       -  Honour your father and your mother.

6       -  You shall not kill.

7       -  You shall not commit adultery.

8       -  You shall not steal.

9       -  You shall not bear false witness against your neighbour.

10     -  You shall not covet anything that belongs to your neighbour.

I encourage you to follow the Ten Commandments

I'm giving them back to you revised, one by one

A sound guide for your judgements

I urge you to obey them whole, forget none, skip none

And in the absurd in which you wallow, I wonder

Why do you wallow in the absurd as in wonder?

1.     You shall have no other god before me.

If the god before me is you

You may have another god before me

My rebellious children, who Paradise view

I demand you stop the abuse of power

I urge you, do not break this alliance

It was I who placed you in the Tower

Above the Earth, above all science

And in the absurd in which you wallow, I wonder

Why do you wallow in the absurd as in wonder?

2.     You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain.

If you aim to gain with feelings you feign

Do not burden me with success or pain

Do not take the name of your Lord in vain

On this, I have enough. You must abstain

I have forgiven you already, beyond reason

Do not swear on my name your treason

Take heed of your tongue. It flows

Floods the Earth, flows through the air

It will take your heart to the Devil's lair

And in the absurd in which you wallow, I wonder

Why do you wallow in the absurd as in wonder?

3.     You shall not make unto thee any graven image of your God.

You should not do it, but you do it anyway

Egotistical Children you are, every day

And you want me here along your way

In every image, which is my image

I am here, I say, I'm here, you say

Yet I'm here bringing you some spice

To your ego, some spice should suffice

And in the absurd in which you wallow, I wonder

Why do you wallow in the absurd as in wonder?

4.     Remember the seventh day and keep it holy.

Don't sweat your life from morning to night

Lest you forget what surrounds you bright

I said, by the sweat of your brow

You would eat your bread

But by the sweat of your brow

Do not rush your death

Jesus, the Redeemer, you must recall

I explained to him the same, when he heeded my call

Man shall not live on bread alone

But on every word from God in His Throne

Thus, spare time for yourself, change your attitude

Take care of yourself; and I say to conclude

Then you shall rest, and I shall rest

And in the absurd in which you wallow, I wonder

Why do you wallow in the absurd as in wonder?

5.     Honour your father and your mother.

I'm sure that your mother and father

Deserve the honour you hold in them

For what they have done to carry you further

Success or failure, which I do not condemn

Raising a child is indeed a tough test

Raising you at best until you leave the nest

But again, it's not for your God

To make responsible parents of you two

Now I say: Honour your children too

For you owe them more than they owe you

So, raise them into this world healthy

In heart and mind, they will grow wealthy

And they will honour you whatever

And I will praise you forever

Yet, in the absurd in which you wallow, I wonder

Why do you wallow in the absurd as in wonder?

6.     You shall not kill.

Indeed, you shall drop your rage and hate

Your crimes are not verses or rhymes

Neither belong to your faith or fate

Rage and hate, drop them before too late

You shall not kill. Indeed, you shall not

So why do you kill your brother, your neighbour?

I say it was my soul, which I breathed into you

The Breath of Life — I gave you the Gift of Life!

So, when you kill your brother, you obey a ghoul

You kill humanity. You kill me. You kill my soul!

And in the absurd in which you wallow, I wonder

Why do you wallow in the absurd as in wonder?

7.     You shall not commit adultery.

Well, well, well, my rebellious Children

I know, as you know, adultery is a common sin

It comes with you since the Breath of Life

Which, as I said, I breathed into you not long ago

I tried to make of you responsible persons

Hence the Ten Commandments, yet I failed

I know, I know, it's not my fault you will say

But of the Devil, who lives in you as I do

But the Devil is feeble, and you have the power

The Devil is a caricature you must endure

While in the Tower where I placed you secure

Why did I do that? Now I'm not so sure

For you lie to me, to yourselves, to your neighbours

Lying is the essence of you, my rebellious children

Why do you welcome lies while the truth you unwelcome?

I didn't breathe lies when I gave you life

Yet you lie, abundantly you lie in whatever you do

I know it because I'm within you and the Devil too

But the Devil and I never discuss your behaviour

Because what shall the point be if you are free?

And in the absurd in which you wallow, I wonder

Why do you wallow in the absurd as in wonder?

8.     You shall not steal.

Indeed, you shall not steal

But first, allow me to clarify this Commandment

You must know that "You shall not steal."

It's a redundancy of Commandment Number 7

"You shall not commit adultery."

About which I have already spoken

And, by extension

It's also a redundancy of Commandment Number 10

"You shall not covet anything that belongs to your neighbour."

I am aware of these redundancies

And how they may have confounded you, my rebellious children

They are my faults, yet my faults do not authorize you to act at will

So, coming back to 'You shall not steal,' which you do anyway

(Well, not you particularly, but several of my children do steal)

I will explain why you do what you shall not

To begin with, you do what you do because you have no morals

Yet you have the opportunity, or you have an unsatisfied need

But, on the other hand, you want revenge

You want to take revenge but from a cause

Not related to the object you are stealing

So then, you may be looking for self-satisfaction

See? When I wrote these commandments

To my dear child Moses not long ago

I didn't think of these things

I didn't think of how complex you would become

I thought you would grow up and become adults, but I was wrong

Because you keep yourselves in the Season of Childhood

Which is not bad, but it's not normal because, at some point

You must grow up and face what you are

And that will be your real survival test

Anyhow, back to why is it that you steal

Besides what I expressed above

You may be a kleptomaniac

Or you don't care about others' property

Or you ambition someone's else property

You are envious of your neighbour's property

You might also have a grudge against society

Or stealing must be an acquired bad habit

An impulse a politician is weak to control

Now, on all the above, let me be clear, it's all your fault

Indeed, you are my children, but I cannot go further

I own your souls, yet I don't own your bodies

I don't own your seasons either, past, present, and future

Past, present, and future are well beyond my scope

Yet it's in-between seasons that you ask for miracles

Miracles won't happen if you don't heal yourselves

So, heal yourselves first from confusion

Then turn to me for your Salvation

And so, as a thief, you can steal lives, feelings

Property, work, knowledge, and thoughts

And you can even steal one kiss, but you cannot steal love

Neither can you steal health

Peace of mind, you cannot steal either

Happiness, yes, you can steal happiness

True, you do it all the time, most of the time

Why do you do that? It puzzles me so

Stolen happiness turns to ashes in your soul

Stolen happiness turns your soul into ashes

Thus, in my solitude, I wonder

What have I started?

Why did I create you?

And in the absurd in which you wallow, I wonder

Why do you wallow in the absurd as in wonder?

Next and last,

9.     You shall not bear false witness against your neighbour.

Yes, you do. You still do.

So, you have a grudge against your neighbour

And want to satisfy yourself by defiling him somehow

You are raising lies against him

Lies that are like waves of a brave sea storming the beach

I say, with one wrong action of yours

You infringe on the Ten Commandments

Because while by committing adultery, you lie, you steal

You play with your neighbour's feelings

You dishonour yourself. You dishonour your parents

If you bear false witness against your neighbour

You kill the accused, the falsely accused soul

And so, here you have my Ten Commandments

Explained, not to read only but to understand them

Practice them, henceforward, correct your behaviour

And give me a break

And please, once and for all, clear this for me

In the absurd in which you wallow, I wonder

Why do you wallow in the absurd as in wonder?

 I love you all

Sincerely

Your God, the Eternal One.
