On Creativity

Creativity applies to any industry. It’s the root of civilization, and so it must be encouraged.

Indeed, we all agree, but how can I boost my creativity?

Many friends and colleagues asked me this question, and to the best of my knowledge and experience, I respond:

1. To boost your creativity, keep your mind, eyes, and ears open 24 hours a day. Yes, 24 hours, because most great ideas come in dreams. So, most importantly, try to remember your dreams.

If you cannot remember your dream, invent one.

2.- Be curious about everything. Begin with yourself and expand and expand like concentric circles do when a stone falls into the quiet lagoon. And submerge deep into the bottom of the sea and fly high and far to the faraway stars.

3.- Think of a problem, any problem, and plan how to solve it.

4.- Spice your creativity with wisdom, a message, a parable, a moral, and a teaching that will become the soul of your creation. In Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland, for instance, can you say who or what the soul of the story is? Is it Alice?

5.- Think of something in your past, how you have solved it, and how you would do it now differently.

Therefore, there are no limits to creativity.

Think of what the world has achieved through creators.

If you are a religious author, think of your Creator, who pushes you to move ahead, be fearless, and become a phoenix.

So, try and retry, and you will win, for it’s written in the book of your life that the shining of your creativity will light the hearts of many.
